ACTE has updated its Sector Sheet on CTE’s role in developing the energy workforce with the latest on labor market demand, talent shortages and exemplary CTE programs.
The energy industry employs 7 million workers who help power our homes, offices, schools, hospitals, cars and more. The need for more efficient, diverse energy sources is fueling demand for occupations such as electricians, technicians, plant/field operators, lineworkers and engineers. In addition, clean energy jobs are some of the highest-paying occupations for people with less than a bachelor’s degree. However, 80% of clean energy employers report they are having trouble filling job openings with qualified candidates.
