Recently, the U.S. Department of Education shared a notice inviting applications for the Education Innovation and Research (EIR) Program. Funded through the Every Student Succeeds Act, EIR is designed to offer opportunities for states, school districts and educators to develop innovative methods and scale effective practices that address their most pressing educational challenges and improve student achievement. Under this program, the department will award “early-phase,” “mid-phase” and “expansion” grants, which differ in terms of the level of prior evidence of effectiveness required for consideration for funding. Specifically, the early-phase grant category includes an absolute priority for work-based learning experiences in STEM fields. You can find more information about applying for an EIR grant here.
