The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the federal agency that oversees the development and enforcement of environmental standards and regulations, is currently soliciting proposals for funding of local or regional programs that deliver environmental workforce development and job training opportunities for unemployed and under-employed individuals. This competitive grant specifically focuses on training for careers in hazardous waste remediation, environmental health and safety, and wastewater management.
The Workforce Development and Job Training Grant program provides for up to $200,000 in funding per awardee for a three-year project period. Eligible recipients include Workforce Investment Boards, nonprofit training providers, municipal/city governments, and community and technical colleges.
